The Calgary Flames have traded defenceman Dion Phaneuf, forward Fredrik Sjostrom, and prospect defenceman Keith Aulie to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forwards Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers and defenceman Ian White.

On a realated note, The Flames and Rangers are working out a deal that would send centre Olli Jokinen and left winger Brandon Prust to New York in exchange for centre Chris Higgins and right-winger Ales Kotalik. Calgary will have really shake things up if this deals go through.

Yeah, some huge trades! I think both teams will come out happy with the trade. Calgary gets two decent forwards that can play in the top-6 and Toronto gets a young defenseman with potential. Watch this turn out like the Doug Gilmore trade hehe.

In regards to the rumours surrounding Jokinen, I'm kinda pissed cause I just dropped him from my hockey pool a day before the reports came out that he might be sent to New York. If he does get moved there he'll most likely be playing with Gaborik! Doh!
