Hi Hugo,

Unfortunately Movable Type is not offered through Fantastico meaning that you would not be able to use cPanel to install or upgrade it. However, there is a lot of documentation on installing and upgrading Movable Type. Here are two very helpful guides:

http://www.movabletype.org/documentatio ... a-ftp.html

http://www.movabletype.org/documentatio ... -type.html

If you are still having difficulties you can contact our Support staff and they will try their best to assist you.

Thanks,

Ok. Thanks King.

Right now I am using Movable Type for my site. But as I did not created it myself not too sure how it works.

Question: how risky is to upgrade MT? Will it negatively affect the site?

Thanks
Hugo

Hi Hugo,

Ideally there should not be any problems with upgrading your MT however we cannot garauntee that there are no bugs/glitches with newer versions of MT as we are not the developers. It would be best to actually check with the MT community and their developers as there may be some known bugs or warnings etc.

I would suggest checking their forums for further information regarding their product. Please feel free to contact our support staff if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
