I have created a test website in a sub-directory and have been developing a new improved site using Joomla. I would soon like to make the site live. Can I simply backup the old site and move all the files from the subdir, www/joomla/, to the www/ dir and have all the (relative) links work. I know I could just try it and see, but I thought I would ask first in case anyone has experience doing this.

Hello Martin

You can take a backup of the entire home directory. This can be easily done from the cPanel interface.
