DNS Problem with Addon

Postby dextech » Mon Jan 02, 2012 3:17 pm

We are having a problem with addon domains,
Randomly the site does not load due to some kind of DNS error (no detail given). Then when we run a DNS Test the message is "No nameservers found at parent nameserver." Other domains also get this error but do not have problems loading.

Please help us understand if this is a problem with our Canadian Webhosting server or a problem at the name registrar.

Hello,

The addon albertadirectory.org is resolving fine.

albertadirectory.org. 86400 IN NS ns1.townpost.ca.
albertadirectory.org. 86400 IN NS ns2.townpost.ca.
;; Received 85 bytes from 199.249.112.1#53(a2.org.afilias-nst.info) in 312 ms

albertadirectory.org. 14400 IN A 107.6.20.114
albertadirectory.org. 86400 IN NS ns1.townpost.ca.
albertadirectory.org. 86400 IN NS ns2.townpost.ca.

I have rather checked intodns(http://www.intodns.com/albertadirectory.org). The issue seems to be related with the SOA records. Could you please recheck the SOA record for the domain albertadirectory.org and for the nameserver-domain townpost.ca? If you are using cPanel, you can check this from DNS Functions > Edit DNS Zone. Now select the domain and click Edit. You can find the SOA record at the top, the correct SOA record for both these domains should be "ns1.townpost.ca." (with out double quotes, should have dot at the end as shown). Wait for propagation delay and check how it goes?
