Question about SSL after Migration

Postby Genesis » Wed Mar 19, 2014 10:56 pm

Hi. I would just like to ask. We are planning to switch over our hosting services to your company. We are from hostgator and we desire to have all our sites hosted on a server located here in canada since our audience and target markets are basically located here as well.

We do have a concern though. A couple of our sites do have an SSL already setup on them. In the past, we experienced problem with the site when the SSL cert expired and we did lots of configuration just to get it back up again. Will moving those sites to your servers going to cause us a problem? We don't want to go through the ordeal of fixing things up. What can you suggest? Hope to hear from you soon.

Respectfully,

Genesis Reonico

Hi Genesis,

Thank you for contacting Canadian Web Hosting.

Moving your website content over to our servers shouldn't be too difficult. However, when it comes to the SSL certificate, below are the two situations you might be in:

1. SSL certificate is expired
-If this is the case, you just need to sign up for a new SSL certificate with us and we will help you install it on your desire domain

2. SSL certificate is still going to be valid for a while
-If this is the case, we will require a copy of your current SSL certificate so we can migrate it over to our server

Please note in both cases the domains need to be on their own dedicated IP address.

If there is any other question, don't hesitate to contact us.

Thanks,
Jim Wu
