How does my client access my ftp on this Internet browser?

Postby vernrb » Thu Apr 19, 2007 9:29 am

I have my domain with Cdn Webhosting, vernrb.com
I've set up a couple of ftp users with passwords
now the questions:
1. how do my users access their directory in the browser?
2. can they upload as well as download?
thank you,
vern

Look at these posts:

If it does not work, you might disable Passive FTP in IE:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab and deselect

Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your reply. I am able to open up my ftp site (ftp://vernrb.com) using your suggestion.
BUT, I still don't know how to upload, it seems I can only download files when I open up my ftp site on my browser by using your suggestion, which is:
ftp://username:password@domain_name/www

I appreciate any suggestions you have for how my clients can upload using their browser.
thanks,
vern

Hello Vern..

Its quite a easy task using IE browser.. :)

* Just Drag the file(s) from their location on your computer (Windows Explorer, File Manager, your desktop, etc.) into the browser window and drop them. You should get a message asking if you want to upload the files. Choose "yes."
* Your files should now be uploaded to our FTP site.

If you still find any difficulty with this.. let us know
scott
