"There is no website configured at this address"

Postby shrugs* » Thu Oct 06, 2005 6:07 am

Weird, I was able to access the cPanel directly from shruggles.net/cpanel last night, and even uploaded a temporary index file.

Now this morning I'm trying to access the CPanel, and it seems to just timeout. This is using dns. But through direct IP (http://66.199.161.70), it comes up with this cPanel error of "There is no website configured at this address".

Oddly enough, I can access www.shruggles.net, and perform a host/dnslookoup to shruggles.net and it will lead to 66.199.161.70.

Insight? Did I screw something up?

That ip address is a shared ip meaning that several websites use it. If you signup to our higher packages that offer a dedicated ip address then you can access your site via ip.

Hi,

You can access cpanel via www.yourdomain.com/cpanel

Dedicated IP is available on Power package and higher.

oops i had read you first response wrong...

the higher packages allow you to access cpanel thru yourdomain.com/cpanel and also thru ip...since you get a dedicated ip.

but the lower ones can only access cpanel thru yourdomain.com/cpanel and not thru the ip address... since you get a shared ip.

is that right....

if so that fine for me...for now anyway..
