Moving from another hosting provider.
Posted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:33 amFor a smooth transition of moving from one hosting provider to another; with the least amount of downtime I recommend the following steps.
1. Register an account with Canadian Web Hosting through our online sign up.
2. Once the account has been created and you receive the login email, begin uploading your content and creating any email accounts you wish to use.
3. When everything has been finished from step 2; contact your current registrar to update your DNS (this is provided for you in the login email).
4. Wait for the DNS to update (4-24 hours), and then cancel the old hosting if necessary.
5. Approve the domain transfer email if you select the domain transfer option in Step 1 of the online sign up.
