Is a domain name required?

My web site is currently hosted with what used to be my ISP until I gained Internet access via high speed connection instead of dial-up. My current host gives me a small amount of disk space (10Meg), no longer provides any web stats, and doesn't even allow the running of cgi-bin scripts.

Moving to CWH would save me a lot of money each year, and give me access to additional features which would be nice to have and allow me to do more with my site.

If I move my site to CWH, do I need to have a domain name registered for my site or would the URL for my site simply wind up as the default CWH domain name followed by ~userid as it is with where my current pages are hosted.

I currently have no idea what domain name I would want to use if I had had to register one with some registrar.

You do not need a domain name if you can't decide on one right now.
You will be given a temp url to use.
