MX Entries

Hi there!

I've been pleased with the service provided by Canadian Webhosting so far, but I have an issue:

My DNS hosting is provided by a different company, with whom I've been for many years. Since the hosting plan for the site hosted with CW provides a static IP, altering the zone file appropriately for webserver access wasn't an issue, but the mailserver has been.

Where should mail.mydomain.ca be pointed?

Thanks in advance, knowledgeable community!

Hello jdunlop,

If you want to use our mail servers, you have to update the MX entries at your remote DNS provider as pasted below:

domain.com. IN MX 0 mail.domain.com.
mail.domain.com. IN A IP address

Replace 'domain.com' with your actual domain name and the 'IP address' with the one assigned to your domain on our server.

If you have any issues, please open a support ticket to support@canadianwebhosting.com with the details, so that we can help you better.

Regards,
Luke
