Configuring a DNS Server

I have never setup a dedicated server to host our clients websites.
So now we signed up for a dedicated server and the tutorial provided to create our own private name servers is clear but missing other steps to have the private name servers working.

it would be useful if a help file showing the big picture of what it takes to create private name servers.
and then a detailed help pages for each scenario. for example in what case we need to create a forward lookup zone and what case we need the forward lookup and reverse zones and etc etc etc until the private name server are setup and functioning.

Any clarification would be great. the help files of microsoft are way to long and way to technical. it would be good to have something for people how are going to set up a dedicated server once in their life time and in a language that covers the most common scenarios for these people.

Thank you

Hello,

The tutorial provided by us is just to help you in setting up a
private name server globally(with a registrar).

To setup a DNS (forward lookup and reverse zones ), it also need to make configurations within the server.

Please open a ticket to support@canadianwebhosting.com with your account details. We will provide you the configuration details.
