Time to dine out and try new restaurants. Because of Winter Olympic, the event is postponed. The date are now set: April 26 to May 6, 2010

For more info check out the Tourism Vancouver website

It supposes to be on Jan to Feb. Good chance to try out new cuisine at a lower cost.

Yeah it's a yearly event where restaurants offer a set menu (usually 3 courses) for about 2 weeks at $15, 25, 35. Gives you a chance to try out some restaurants you may not normally go to. If you are interested I strongly suggest making reservations early because most of the popular restaurants get booked up quick.

Site is usually at;

They should be updating it as it gets closer to the date.

I think I've only had 1-2 OK experiences at Dine Out from all the years.

You get a better experience if you order from the regular menu and not 'Dine Out' menu.

Yes, the portions have been downsized over the years. I went with my friends about 6 years ago hitting Blue Water Cafe, Il Giardino, Cin Cin, and another one in Yaletown owned by Il Giardino di Umberto group but has since closed. They were decent size but now it's not worth it.

We went to La Terrazza in Yaletown last year and ordered dine out menu and was underwhelming.

Stick to regular menu or don't go at all.

I'll agree that most experiences are mediocre. However I did have a good one at the revolvin restaurant at the Harbour Centre. The portions were pretty generous and the food was not bad. It comes with a nice view too heh.
