BP Oil Spill

I'm sure everyone has heard about the sad BP Oil Spill. I just found this video on the net and it is very surprising! They are using hay to absorb and clean water mixed with oil.. check it out..

WoW that is quite clever but I would if it will work on a a really large scale.

There has been a lot of creativity around this oil spill. In Seattle, there was a big effort to gather hair from local barbers to create hair filled booms to absorb oil. Long tough road ahead.

I've heard that too! Who knew hair was so useful and could be used so creatively.

Yeah it's nice to see all these different ways we can hopefully clean up the spill. The biggest problem right now is just to stop "the damn leak" and they also found out recently that the oil is no longer just travelling on the surface of the water but also under it. This makes containment of the oil so much harder as booms will not be nearly as effective.

There were some salons throughout Seattle and Vancouver that were collecting hair to send to a company that makes mats to help with the cleanup.

It is just disgusting how long this has gone on now!!

They should have had things contained within a week!!
